Gerard O’Malley
Gerard serves as the Chief Executive Officer. He is one of the guiding forces behind our firm’s growth and success, and has set standards nationally for expertise, vision and reputation in commercial real estate finance. He has 12 years of experience in real estate advisory work, and has personally negotiated more than $240,000,000 in real estate financing transactions.
Over his career, Gerard has developed deep and lasting relationships with a broad array of lenders, including banks, agency lenders, life companies and conduit lenders. He has built tried-and-true relationships with many sophisticated and active real estate owners and operators.
Gerard is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the group as well as strategic planning and new business development.
Prior to founding DCF, Gerard was a mortgage banker for PHH, a mortgage advisory firm. In addition to working at PHH, Gerard worked with Liberty Capital overseeing acquisitions and private placement transactions.
Gerard received a BS in Business, Management and Marketing from Duquesne University. He is a member of the AOH, American Ireland Fund, and one of the directors for the Sorghums Field Project since 2007.
Tim McGinley
Tim joined Duquesne Commercial Funding as their Director of Business Development and is a principal of the company. He has cultivated new client relationships and has been involved in over $350M in loan originations across all property types.
His goals are to identify new business opportunities – new markets, new partnerships, and new ways to reach existing markets while also servicing offerings to better meet the needs of current clients. Tim’s day to day operations involve constant communication with various lenders including but not limited to CMBS, Life Insurance companies and regional bankers ensuring clients are receiving the markets best pricing available in real time. Through honesty and integrity, Tim has achieved the highest respect of his collages from both the lenders and borrowers alike.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing and Management from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Tim is member of the American Ireland Fund young leaders, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Center City Proprietors Association, and Whitemarsh connect. He currently resides in the Old City section of Philadelphia with his wife MaryBeth.
Conway Lackman
As Co-Founder of Duquesne Commercial Funding, Conway is responsible for overseeing legal affairs and operational matters for origination’s for the firm. Conway was Head of the Research and Marketing Department at Duquesne University from 1999-2013, Palumbo Donahue School of Business.
Conway Lackman’s research interests include B2B modeling, new product development and environmental sustainability, His research focuses on impact of teams on new product performance and sales forecasting applications using research methods such as advanced state-of-art techniques in statistical analysis (Conjoint, Factor, Correspondence, MDS, ANOVA, MANOVA, MDS), database systems, and Data Mining. His works include quality marketing journals (Industrial Marketing Management, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Forecasting, Journal Of Business & Industrial Marketing, Journal of Product Innovation & Management), and in several top economics journals.
He received his PhD in business economics from University of Cincinnati, MS in marketing at Arizona State University and BS in social science at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Jim Overton
Jim joined the firm in 2011 and is head of Middle-Market originations, focused on providing full-service banking for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clients.
Jim represents the firm in Pittsburgh and the mid-west market working with local, community, state, and national levels. Jim stays current with which banks are offering the best products each quarter by constant communications and engagement.
Jim is a profit orientated leader for DCF and helps ensure our borrowers are getting the best possible pricing the market has to offer. Prior to working at DCF Jim was a personal financial advisor and principal for Overton Financial group. Jim has over 25 years of business experience and grew revenues at a Pittsburgh Real estate firm from $3M to over $100M in a 5 year period.
Jim attended St. Vincent College and received his Bachelor degree in Accounting in 1981 and later received his MBA from Robert Morris in 1988. Jim is certified in the Series 7 and Series 66.
